The Amazing Aperitif
I’ve always loved a good Bloody Mary! Extra, extra spicy and with all of my favorite garnish, please. I like to fancy up my drink like it’s getting ready to walk the runway. The bigger the celery leaf stalk the better. And bacon… I have a killer bacon recipe that I’ll share with you in the next few weeks. It’s the best bacon you’ll ever eat, and in this case, it’s the best garnish a Bloody Mary could ever have! Olives are a favorite of mine, too. Olives stuffed with blue cheese…good heavens! And large shrimp, say what???? With garnish like fancy celery, bacon, olives, shrimp, and more, this customizable drink might possibly be the superstar of all drinks ever created! Can life get any better? Oh, but it can because I am just talking about the beautiful and yummy garnish.

Like I said, I’ve always loved a good Bloody Mary. Really though, I had no idea how much I would fall in love with this drink until my friend, AnnMarie, mixed me up her savory version. Built on tomato juice with vodka and seasoned with simple ingredients known for their complex flavors this sassy superstar is quite the winner! Last weekend I hosted a spring-time brunch and asked Annmarie if she’d be willing to share her recipe. I thought it would be the perfect occasion to have a “Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar”.
