America’s greatest party, the festive 4th of July! I love this holiday for all that it stands for! The celebration of our United State’s declaration of Independence. The 4th of July is when we gather together under the stars and watch the sky light up with fireworks so bright that friends from all around share in our same delight. When I think of the 4th of July I think back to the many gatherings we’ve shared with family and friends, all of the BBQ’s and fresh berry desserts, and country music blaring to the tune of our red, white and blue. Neighbors fly their flags with pride and across the nation homes are adorned with all types of wonderful American decor. Check out how I styled my table and outdoor upper-deck this year!
Festive 4th of July
My upper-deck has a great view of the upstate New York as far as the eye can see. We love hanging out here at the settle of nightfall to watch the fireworks from all different towns. This year Pottery Barn and I partnered up to highlight some of their fabulous 4th of July decorations. I’ve linked most of the pieces below in the photo gallery. Click on any of the photos to get more information.
Not included in the photo gallery are the festive firecracker napkin rings, blue glass candle pots, the American flag banner and the Lillian vase in the center of the table. These are not available online, but most likely are available at your local Pottery Barn retail store. The great news is that many of these decorations are on sale right now. Don’t wait, head over ASAP to snag them. If you’re looking for a specific piece on this blog show the sales associate a picture and they will direct you.
Relax In Red, White & Blue
This area of my upper-deck has the ultimate view of upstate New York. It sits just off of our family room and looks over our pool. Mike and I like to hang out here while the kids swim. We are still able to be part of the party (AKA “keeping an eye on our crazy kiddos”), but just far enough away that we feel like we have our own sweet escape spot. Because this area is viewable from inside the house I like to fancy it enough to feel like it’s part of our indoor space. We have one oversized crystal chandelier that hangs center to two large wingback chairs, an old wooden coffee table that was once a sail boat door, a sofa and two ottomans I use as seats. Here’s how I decorated this year:

Not included in the photo gallery (and not available online) is my gorgeous red Hudson ceramic bowl that I have filled with antler sheds. I use this for the 4th of July, Christmas, and Valentine’d Day. It’s most likely available at your local retail store and it retails at $149. Also not pictured is the eucalyptus garland. I love this garland strand and use it all year long for decoration on tables, along stair railings and/or coiled up in a bowl or lantern. I didn’t see this online, but I know Pottery Barn plans on selling it well into the fall and winter holidays and it retails at $79.00. Last, not pictured is the striped outdoor pillow. Check your local stores for availability. Mine is on sale right now for only $22.99.
Appetizers & Desserts- Oh My!
It just wouldn’t be right to show you this FABULOUS dessert without giving you the recipe, right? Don’t worry, I got ya! I created the MOST delicious angel food cake dessert EVER…and I cheated my entire way through it. How, you ask? Well, the cake is store-bought and the cream is whipped (BUT, you must read on, because I have a VERY SECRET ingredient in there to make this the BEST YOU’LL EVER HAVE.) My recipe is below:
Now, if you’ve read any of my past posts then you know I love the south and really feel like I was supposed to be a southern girl. So here you go:
“Ya’ll have fun this 4th of July, ya hear?” Did I do that right?
